According to a survey by the Association of Executive Search Consultants, work/life balance has declined over the past five years. More than half of executives surveyed said that they had not achieved satisfactory work/life balance and that devices such as the BlackBerry and mobile phones had negatively impacted their personal time. Many would consider taking a pay cut or giving up a promotion in order to preserve or increase their leisure time. The takeaway? Create company policies that respect workers’ off hours, and be mindful of personal needs and obligations when defining your work expectations.
