Wow, our first full week of CorporateWellnessadvisor.com is under our figurative belt. Topics this week included employee motivation, effective cost-efficient communications, celebrating success, and wellness messages at work. The unifying principal of these topics is interpersonal relationships in the workplace. It is the people we work with every day that enrich our work-life and personal productivity. We perform better when we feel like we are members of a team working together for and with each other.
If you did not get a chance to read Monday’s post, I encourage you to take a look at the 10 Tips for Motivating Employees. Boiling it down, they amount to treating people the way we would wish to be treated. Yet again, the old adage of the “Golden Rule” is confirmed.
Humans are social creatures. We require personal interactions with other humans to thrive, change, and grow. In an increasingly electronic, fast-paced, sound-bitten, stress-inducing world, perhaps the best anecdotes to these factors are effective communication, celebrating each other, and encouraging wellness in mind, body, and spirit in all venues of life.
Wellness messages are received and work better when co-workers encourage and help one another achieve goals. In fact, recent surveys stress the value of making a cultural shift that positions employee health as a vital business goal — a “culture of wellness” at work can dramatically increase participation rates in activities, strengthen the workforce and promote your company as a competitive employer. (For more on putting wellness to work, get our free whitepaper “Wellness at Work: Practical Information for Setting Up a Corporate Wellness Program”.)
As social creatures in a computerized world, we are interested in developing relationships with you via multiple routes including social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Every day we are scanning the web for wellness news and sharing it with you via Twitter.
