Are your employees getting the proper nutrition they need to be productive at work?
While you can’t force anyone to adopt healthier eating habits, you can give your employees the information they need to make better choices.
Try tacking up posters or e-mail this list of nutritious snacks from the authors of “Eat This, Not That.”
Yogurt. This dairy snack helps boost your immune system and also provides cancer protection. Yogurt also has probiotics, which fight the harmful bacteria in your body. Buy a six-pack of yogurt and keep them in the office refrigerator for the week.
Walnuts. Rich in omega-3s, walnuts have more anti-inflammatory polyphenols than red wine. Keep in a Ziploc bag for a snack, but watch your portion size! Walnuts are also rich in calories.
Oats. Full of soluble fiber, oats can help lower the risk of heart disease. Bring a pouch of instant oatmeal into the office for breakfast or lunch, or try a handful of granola for a snack.
Carrots. The carotenoids in this veggie may reduce cancer risk and reduce inflammatory conditions, like asthma and rheumatoid arthritis. Buy a bag of baby carrots and keep them in the office refrigerator.
