Great news for all wellness providers!
More research, including this recent study published in the January/February issue of the American Journal of Health Promotion, found that employees who participated in a wellness program at work had significantly lower health care costs.
In the study, employees who were active participants in their wellness program, significantly decreased their length of stay and frequency of admission to the hospital, verses employees who were not involved in work-related fitness activities.
This study helps link healthy promotions at work (walking programs, diet and fitness trackers, posters, tabletop reminders, e-mails, brochures, etc.) to a healthier lifestyle for employees, and a healthier bottom line for your business.
